December 31 Book Review of "Jinn" - Matthew DelaneyBlurb An ancient evil discovered by Marines in the South Pacific during World War II is linked to a depraved serial killer many years later on the streets of Boston. Detectives Jefferson and Brogon have no idea that to solve this case, their investigation must take them around the world and through time and history. -------------------------------- The book starts during the Vietnam War. In the beginning, you may think you´re reading a war story, in which the American are fighting against "Charlie" and a creature. When they find mutilated corpses of US´ and Charlies Soldies again and again, they´re getting afraid. Then the American meet a group of the enemys soldiers, which are convinced of the story about the demon. At least, the US soldiers flee on their boats, which are destructed then. And the jinn is there, too... Years later, the ship is been secured and convicted and the terror begins: The creature kills in Boston. With the time, you learn more about the creature. At least it dies, because a woman (which died on the boat) gives herself as victim. This ending is like fantasy, but it is the peak of the book. It´s so well (and sad) written that you wish it wouldn´t end. I´ve heard that the movie rights were sold before the book was finished. -------------------------------- I have to recommon this book to you and I hope that the movie will come soon.
